We are often asked by insurance companies, rehabilitation consultants, lawyers, and government agencies such as Veterans’ Affairs Canada to assess and treat the psychological impact of stressful or traumatic events, illness and physical disability.
Assessments are conducted to address the following:
– Identify the individual’s adjustment to trauma, stress, illness or injury
– Determine the appropriate diagnosis, if any
– Identify psychological impairments, their impact on functioning and any resulting disability
– Identify treatment needs and goals
Feedback to the client and a comprehensive report to the referral source are provided as appropriate.
Rehabilitation therapy services are usually funded by third parties such as insurance companies and government agencies (e.g. Veterans Affairs). A treatment plan is prepared in advance and coverage for sessions worked out prior to the first appointment.
